What this register is
The Toxic Mold Foundation keeps a public list of the businesses that deal with mold and the water that causes it: the inspectors who test for it, the remediation contractors who remove it, the restoration crews who dry a building out, and the trades that repair the damage afterwards.
Every entry shows the same things — company name, service, address, phone number and website — so you can compare two companies without wading through two sales pages. Listings are free, and a business cannot pay to be marked as approved, because we do not approve anyone.
Why a directory rather than advice
Mold is a local problem with local answers. Humidity, building age, water tables and state licensing rules all change from one state to the next, and the right person for a Florida crawl space is not the right person for a Minnesota basement. What travels well is a list of who is out there and how to reach them — and a short set of questions to ask before you hire.
If you are not sure where to start, start with a test. An inspector who does not also sell remediation has nothing to gain from finding more mold than there is.

Test before you treat
An independent inspector who does not also sell remediation has no reason to find more mold than there is. Ask for the laboratory report, not a verbal result.

Fix the water first
Mold is a symptom. If the leak, the flood or the humidity is still there, the growth comes back. Restoration and waterproofing crews deal with the cause.

Check the paperwork
Ask every company for its licence number, proof of liability insurance and a written scope of work. Several states license mold work separately from general contracting.
